Pooja Sengupta and Turongomi School of Dance become members of UNESCO’s CID

Great news for all the dance lovers out there!!! Renowned dancer Pooja Sengupta and the Turongomi School of Dance, were announced as official members of UNESCO’s International Dance Council (CID), recently.

The Turongomi School of Dance was established to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Turongomi Repertory Dance Theatre. It was established to promote dancing as a proper profession and to introduce new dance forms in the contemporary dance scene of Bangladesh. It uses both theater and poetry in its dance and choreography. It was the first dance theater and dance-based repertory and offer classes on Bharatanatyam, Contemporary & Creative Dance, Dance Aerobics & Dance Meditation, Dance Theatre, and Dance Games

Pooja is the founder and director of the organisation. On the other hand, UNESCO’s CID is the official organisation for forms of dance across the world.
