Lucky Akhand has been featured in today’s Google Doodle in honor of his birthday!!!

Today marks the 63rd birthday of the famous Bangladeshi singer/composer Lucky Akhand, and search engine giant Google has done a tribute by making a Doodle of him.

It was posted on its Bangladeshi homepage showing Akhand, donning a cap, playing guitar and singing.

Born on 18 June, 1956 in Old Dhaka, Lucky Akhand has started his career with the self-titled solo album in 1984 under the banner of Sargam. He was also associated with the musical band Happy Touch.

Akhand got music lessons at the age of five from his father. He performed in music programs for children on television and radio during 1963-1967. He was enlisted as a music composer of HMV Pakistan when he was 14 and a musician of HMV India at 16. He won the first prize in ‘Modern Bangla Songs’ category in 1969 from the Pakistan Art Council. He was an artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, the radio broadcasting center of Bangladesh Government formed for Liberation Struggle during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.

He died on April 21, 2017 due to stage-4 lung cancer.
