Chittagong will witness something new and different this time. A metal concert will be held today at the city’s Muslim Hall for a cause to save someone’s life. Yes that’s right! It’s about saving the life of a poor orphan boy name Hanif. The concert titled- Excelsior Spirit is organized by Conscience – Bibek, and will focus on gathering the right amount of fund for the treatment of Hanif who’s kidneys are damaged.

“We have worked day and night to get everything sort out.” said Anik Nandy– the show organizer. “We had to cancel once because lack of support and funding. Thanks to Zoheb Mahmud for spreading the word. It was almost impossible for us to arrange something like this.” He also added, “We have already received so many good responses as folks from abroad also gave us some donations, we are looking forward to make this show a great one.”

Regarding the ticket the organizers said, “It will be Tk 200 (USD 2.48). We want to keep it as cheap as possible and all the money from selling the tickets and the ones received from various other sources will be spent on Hanif’s treatment.”

According to the event page, the show is about saving the life of Hanif – an 18 year old orphaned boy whose one kidney got damaged and the other one is not working properly at all. He needs around BDT 1 million (USD 12-13) for his treatment.

The concert will showcase some of the old and upcoming metal bands of the country, specially from Chittagong. This would probably be the first ever metal charity concert in Bangladesh. The list of bands which will perform are:
