Bumblefoot to headline the Dhaka Rock Fest – 2017

Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, producer and world-renowned guitar virtuoso Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal is going to visit Bangladesh for the very first time, to headline the first edition of Dhaka Rock Fest. The show will held on Friday (September-15) at the capital’s Russian Cultural Center, after a special guitar clinic at Radio ABC tomorrow (Thursday, September-14).

The show will also features local bands – Owned, Mechanix, Karnival and Quanta. A very special jam session will be held with Bumblefoot which will features talented musicians of Bangladesh like Raef Al Hasan Rafa, Aldane Alam, Samir Hafiz, Saadi Muktafi and Niaz Kamran Abir. And that’s not all!!! A contest has been held where 2 guitarists, 2 drummers, 2 bassists and 2 vocalists will going to share the stage with the legendary musician.

Dhaka Rock Fest – 2017 is dedicated to the memory of dear friend, good soul and great musician “Zeheen Ahmed“.

Bumblefoot is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, producer and world-renowned guitar virtuoso, with over 20 years of releasing music, playing international festivals and headlining tours, and gracing magazine covers as a solo artist. As lead guitarist of “Guns N’ Roses” (2006 – 2014) Bumblefoot toured sold-out shows all over the world, headlining festivals with crowds up to 150,000. Bumblefoot’s unique ‘fretless guitar’ can be heard throughout GNR’s 2008 “Chinese Democracy” album.

Bumblefoot’s recent “Little Brother Is Watching” album is an eccentric, upbeat collection of epic, modern rock with haunting melodies, huge choruses and witty lyrics about life in the digital age and beyond. The album was composed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Bumblefoot at his own studio, and includes a crowd of 100 fans stomping, chanting and singing backing vocals recorded at a listening party in New York. The album peaked at #4 on Amazon.com Rock charts globally.

Bumblefoot is the current guitarist of the Prog Super-band Sons Of Apollo featuring “Mike Portnoy” (ex-Dream Theater, ex-The Winery Dogs, Transatlantic), “Derek Sherinian” (ex-Dream Theater), “Billy Sheehan” (The Winery Dogs, Mr Big, David Lee Roth) and “Jeff Scott Soto” (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s Rising Force). Bumblefoot’s other collaboration include rock group Art Of Anarchy (featuring Creed‘s vocalist “Scott Stapp” and Disturbed‘s bassist “John Moyer“) and “Fragile Mortals” (featuring “DMC” from iconic rap group Run DMC and ex-Exodus vocalist “Rob Dukes“).

Bumblefoot is also an accomplished composer whose music is often heard in TV, film and video games, including the theme song to VH1‘s “That Metal Show”.
