Phil Rudd, drummer for famous Australian hard rock band AC/DC has been detained by a New Zealand court. The conviction orders him to be detained at his home for the next 8 months. The conviction came out of the charges of consuming alcohol. He was also found to be carrying a stash of weed and methamphetamine last year. Phil has also been ordered not to consume any drugs or alcohols. “Any breaching of these conditions will lead him to a jail” – said the judge Thomas Ingram. Prior the ruling, the court was told that Rudd‘s actions were the result of psychosis, brought on by drugs
Phil hit the news last year when he sent death threats to employee of the record label that published his debut solo album ‘Head Job’. He was also arrested but not sentenced that time. Rudd has reportedly been struggling with a meth addiction. He is replaced by Chris Slade for the current world tour of AC/DC in support of their last album Rock or Blast.
