American thrash lengend – Megadeth‘s frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer. The news has spread like wildfire once it was posted by the musician himself on his Instagram yesterday (June-17).
The pioneering thrasher and guitar virtuoso has posted the following :-
“I’ve been diagnosed with throat cancer. It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on – but I’ve faced obstacles before. I’m working closely with my doctors, and we’ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun.”
With the news comes the obvious cancellation of the band’s 2019 tour dates, but he assures their inaugural Megacruise will still happen, and “the band will be a part of it in some form.” Anthrax, Testament, Overkill and more will be performing on the cruise.
The band has also announced a special 25th anniversary show in honor of their record Youthanasia.
